摘要:In the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, students starting
from Elementary education to higher education need to be
enhanced by 4Cs skills including critical thinking abilities,
creative thinking abilities, communicating abilities and
collaborative abilities in order to face challenges and
solve problems. Therefore, educators play an essential role
in producing better future generations in the era of the
industrial revolution 4.0. The purpose of this study is to
explain the perceptions of the students in the department
of Islamic elementary education (PGMI) at IAIN Kudus as
the candidate of teachers regarding the importance of
integrating higher order thinking skills (HOTS) in English
learning through a project-based learning model, one
of them by making video projects of teaching English in
elementary school. This study employed a qualitative
method with an approach to descriptive analysis. Data were
collected through semi-structured interviews with students
and documentation. The results of the study showed that
most students in the department of Islamic elementary education (PGMI) at IAIN Kudus agree that the project of
making videos in teaching English at elementary schools
can encourage them in learning English especially in
speaking English. They feel more confident when teaching
English after making a video project. Moreover, the project
of making videos can promote their creative and critical
thinking skills in learning English.
