摘要：Winter sports occupy a prominent placeinEuropean tourism, not only because oftheireconomicimportanceinmountainousareas butalso dueto their major symbolicsignificancein the"leisurecivilisation". Yet the world ofwinter tourismis full of uncertaintiesconnected with climatechange and also with evolutionsand structural breaks thatcallinto question the developmentmodel onwhich it is based. Thiscontext of profound change gives us the opportunity to question thelimits oftheindustrialmodelthat has governed the development ofthe Alps for the practice ofskiing and to examinealternativefuturescenarios to "all-outskiing"and even "all-out tourism".
