摘要：The aqidah education is an integral part of the Islamic education and maintaining the purity of aqidah becomes one of its goals.Therefore,the scholars throughout the ages have always tried to protect the ummah from deviation of aqidah.One book written for this purpose is Kitab Bonang (the Book of Bonang).The aim of this study was to describe how the purification of aqidah was carried out by Sunan Bonang in Java in the 16th century.The approach used was a qualitative approach with the study of literature as the methode.Based on this research,Sunan Bonang was an educator who was very concerned about the purity of aqidah of the ummah.He warned Javanese Muslims in his day about the challenges of the teachings of deviant aqidah,such as Wujûdiyyah Mulhidah,Dahriyyah Thabî„iyyah,Bâthiniyah,Karrâmiyah,and Mu„tazilah.Through Kitab Bonang,Sunan Bonang answered the challenge,namely purification of faith in Islamic education.
