摘要：The aim of the article is to evaluate the current role of FRONTEX as an EU border agency in the protection of borders. The text attempts to examine the limits of its competences as well as the possibility of their increasing beyond the coordinative role FRONTEX now plays. The article offers a brief overview of the current system of border management in the European Union and then concentrates on the evolution of FRONTEX and the current changes proposed by European Commissio.
