摘要:Misconception has been remained as a big problem in learning in every level of education in the world. One of material that is susceptible to misconception is evolutionary theory. The objective of this study is to explain the correlation between misconceptions about evolutionary theory and learning outcome. Its subjects was biology education department student at Islamic University of Madura. This study used correlational research design to explain correlation of predictor and criterium. Misconceptions measured by questionnaire, using Measure of Acceptance of the Theory of Evolution (MATE). The result of learning outcome was measured by essay test using pre test and post test. The result of this study showed that there was significant correlation between misconceptions about evolutionary theory and learning outcome. Identification of evolutionary theory gave descriptions about material with high misconception. Therefore, active learnings were applied to overcome high misconception about theory of evolution and the result was the increase of students’ learning outcome about theory of evolution.
