摘要：Contamination of freshwater piping on board ships could result in severe health problems, and hence, in lost of operating hours and profit. The paper aims at presenting the main reasons for the growth of bacteria and other parasites. Furthermore, technological and organizational measures for the prevention and suppression of legionella are pointed out.
