  • 摘要:The huge and ever growing deficit of timber experienced by current woodchip users, such as chipboard and fibreboard producers, as well as the pulp and paper industry, is a result of co-burning biomass residues, most frequently woodchips and fossil fuels. The energy sector’s focus on using woodchips, as source of energy is a consequence of the undertaking by Polish Parliament to implement the Renewable Energy Development Strategy, which aims at increasing the percentage of renewable sources of energy in the overall primary energy balance from 7.5% in 2010 to 14% in 2020. Subsequent strong competition on the timber market may lead to many timber processing companies ceasing production. One of the reasonable solutions, aiming at protecting timber as well as ecological usage of post-production waste, is the co-burning waste paper, so far most frequently stored at landfill sites.
