标题：THE SOCIAL CAPITAL OF RAHTAWU COMMUNITY: A CASE STUDY OF FOREST CONSERVATION IN KUDUS REGENCY

摘要：The problem of destruction of the ecosystem of Muria has occured for years.Unfortunately,there are no serious and effective efforts to address that problem.This ineffectivity is the result of the lacks of collaboration amongst stakeholders in managing natural and environment resources in Muria Area.Although there are initiatives from various parties,including government,universities,NGOs,and local community,those are sporadic and not integrated.Moreover,those exclude the community’s social capital for Muria forest conservation.This papers aims to draw the social capital in Rahtawu,particularly associated with forest conservation efforts in Muria.Using phenomenological approach,the writer tries to explore social capital in Rahtawu,Kudus through interviews and participant observation.The findings underline (a) social norms,trust and networks as social capital forms and (b) sedekah bumi,sambatan,not to performing wayang puppet show,and not to chopping woods as the social capital manifestation to preserve Muria ecosystem.
