摘要：Equivalence in translation is “a concept that has probably cost the lives of more trees than any other in translation studies” (Fawcett,Peter,Translation and Language, 1997: 53,quoted by Sánchez in “Domesticating the Theorists: A Plea for Plain Language”). It is also the fundamental concern in translation and has been given due attention since the early 1950s,but,obviously writers and translators expressed their opinions about equivalence in translation since the first attempts to translate an SL text into a TL one..
