摘要:The aim of the article is to reconsider some theoretical issues in regard to teaching grammar. Acknowledging that the issue at hand is a long debate,we briefly revise some of the traditional and modern approaches to teaching grammar, considering their advantages, keeping in mind that any effective method is a good method. Relying both on various theories of L2 acquisition and on personal experience, the article argues that form-based teaching is still sustainable and learners benefit from learning explicit rules, concluding however that traditional approaches should be intertwined with newer approaches so as to lead to efficiency.
