摘要:A way to improve the quality and efficiency of e-learning is to develop functionalities of e-learning platforms. The process must start with an analysis of LMS systems which,among other things,make open distance learning possible and are very popular among both teachers and students. The paper points to many similarities between various LMS platforms in terms of their functioning and the structure of their elements. The results are shown in reference to the most popular e-learning platform,that is Moodle. The popularity of various extensions available in the Moodle modules and plugins repository was analysed. On the top of the list of the most frequently used are themes and course formats,that are the extensions which change the appearance of the courses and,partly,also the functioning of the platform. The module designed for applying the mind mapping (as defined by Tony Buzan) in the process of education was characterised in more detail. The paper also presents the results of a literature review aimed at comparing the efficiency of education systems that involve mind mapping. The results show that the use of mind maps can have a positive influence on results obtained in the process of education in comparison to more traditional methods of teaching. The paper also discusses the potential for the development of e-learning with the application of mind maps,which can be created automatically with the new application MindMap Format developed by our team and added to the repository of Moodle platform modules..
