摘要:Following ankle sprains, some basketball players develop functional instability.Peroneal muscle weakness is considered as one of the aethiological factors in this type of pathology. No studies have been noted evaluating the effects of this problem on a performance criterion such as jumping. In this study, basketball players having chronic functional ankle instability were tested in order to assess their calf isokinetic strength and single leg vertical jump scores. The results were compared with the uninjured side.In conclusion,no statistically significant differences were noted between unstable and uninjured sides regarding calf strength and jumping height.
