摘要：On the eve of passing the current Law on privatisation in the public of Serbia there has been made an image that transforming public into private property will suddenly lead to a quick and effective solution to the numerous and very difficult problems of the economic development of Serbia.It was expected that the market economy would provide by itself higher effectiveness,the increase of production,employment and export, and consequently a significant improvement of the living standard of the citizens.Instead of finishing the process of privatisation,as it was planned by the end of 2004,in all probabilities it will continue for a few years.For reaching long-term conclusions the time period of five years is rather short,but nevertheless one can point out that the achieved net results in the process of privatisation are far from promised,and extremely far from expected.
