摘要:The objective of this paper is to explore the impacts of socioeconomic and demographic characteristics of Turkish households on their credit risk. For this reason,we use Budget Survey of Turkish Households conducted by Turkish Statistical Institute for the year 2003. Our sample comprises 25,586 households. We allocate households to credit risk categories according to their income-expense balance. Our results obtained through logit analyses confirm that we are able to accurately allocate most of the households into two different credit risk categories. Our binomial logit estimations provide wide range of results on the direction of relationships between the credit risk of Turkish households and their assets, savings, job characteristics and internal features.
