摘要：Este estudo tem por objetivo refletir sobre o imaginário com basa em um recorte da narrativa. A cocanha de José Clemente Pozenato (2000). A partir do escopo teórico do imaginário concebido por Durand (2001), propomos uma discussão sobre os rituais de alimentação como trajetória de pertencimento, tradição e ancestralidade de um grupo de imigrantes italianos, conforme a narrativa já mencionada. Calçados na mitocrítica e na mitanálise, apontamos os símbolos que compõem e o regime diurno e regime noturno das imagens, bem como as recorrências e redundâncias que reforçam as estruturas de sensibilidade do desbravador em busca da cocanha, demarcando a italianidade.
