摘要:This article investigates the personal experience of sports-persons who suffer injuries that end their practice of a sport. Theproposed hypothesis is that when sports-persons suffer such injuries, they undergo a profound process of personal change. They live this change at the level of affects—sensations, emotions, and sentiments—, activities—e.g. interruption of thepractice, psychosomatic recovery, therapies, search of new alternatives for sports practice—, and personal ends andobjectives—the function and purpose of their sports practice in their integral life as organic-social beings. The discussion isapproached from a personal perspective—that is, the process of change is discussed from a first-person perspective, fromhow the sports-person lives the process from within. The philosophical concept of “person” deployed here is based on thethought of Charles Peirce.
