摘要:This article investigates the role of two women´scounselling organizations, the Martha Organizationand the Rural Women’s Advisory Organization, inthe construction of the relationship between humanbeings and nature. Special attention is devoted tothe gendered aspects of this relationship. The keyissue of this paper deals with the meanings given tonature in the current activities of these organisations. This particularly concerns the questions whethertheir traditional approach, i.e. the utilisation ofnature in various forms, still dominates, or whetherthese organisations have actively adapted theirinterpretations towards, e.g., seeing nature as anaesthetic experience or in terms of protectionand environmental sustainability. In order to revealissues and interpretations of gendered aspects andnature, the study utilised textual and visual materialconcerning the aims and activities of the organizations. It is concluded that the interpretations of these twoorganizations deviate from each other in an interestingmanner. The Martha Organization appears to be betterinformed on the current discourse on environmentalsustainability, and its traditional approach is in factquite close to the discourse’s key tenets. The RuralWomen’s Advisory Organization, on the other hand, has found its niche in counselling that focuses on thepostproductionist utilisation of nature.
