摘要:The level of temporary overvoltage (TOV) has a strong effect on wind turbine power systemreliability. TOV magnitude depends up on the state at which the circuit breaker contacts close. Thispaper investigates the mitigation of TOV in weak grids connected to DFIG-based wind farms. Preinsertionresistor (PIR), Controlled switching of circuit breaker, Shunt reactor, and Surge arrestersare applied as protective devices to mitigate TOVs under various operation conditions such assymmetrical or unsymmetrical switching of circuit breaker. Alternating Transient Program (ATP) isused in this study to simulate of the investigated system and the elements of mitigation devices.
