摘要：This study aims to investigate problems with local community participation in the Naga Fireball Festival in Phon Phisai District, Nong Khai province, and guidelines to promote local community participation in the conservation of the Naga Fireball Festival in Phon Phisai District. A mix method was applied. The results showed that overall, local community participation in the Naga Fireball Festival was at the high level (mean = 3.57, S.D. = 0.15). Guidelines to promote local community participation in the conservation of the Naga Fireball Festival in Phon Phisai District, Nong Khai province were proposed which included: 1) designing an official website to promote the Naga Fireball Festival, 2) establishing a learning center about the Naga in Phon Phisai District, 3) promoting homestay for a firsthand experience along the Mekong River, 4) expanding the role of young people in the community in festival planning, and 5) providing tourists’ activities based on the Legend of Naga.
