摘要:At a sample of 194 basketball players age 12 years, divided into two groups, (103 basketball players
who train twice a week and 91 who train three and more times per week), was conducted a survey in order
to determine if there are any differences in some anthropometric characteristics, composition and motor
abilities. Three anthropometric measurements, two measurements for assessing body mass and six motor
tests, were applied in the study. Differences in anthropometric measures, body composition, and motor tests
were determined by multivariate and univariate variance analysis. Based on the results, it can be concluded
that basketball players who practice three or more times per week were taller, have bigger arm span, show
lower values of body fat and higher muscle mass. Also, young basketball players who train three or more
times a week achieve better results in general motor tests in distance jump, Sit-ups 30 seconds. Bent Arm
Hang test, shuttle run 4x10 meters and a Sit and Reach test.
