摘要:The present research was carried out in three study sites, Martha Cecilia, Evekar and
Loor, sites belonging to the rural parish of Santa María del Toachi. The objectives of the
research were to identify and determine the diversity of scolitids, abundance and
diversity indices associated with plantations and Teak trees. To determine the diversity
in the plantations, 36 intersecting flight traps were installed at a height of 1.30 m, above
ground level. As an attractant, 175 ml of 96 ° alcohol and 75 ml of distilled water were
placed in each trap. of the specimens was made every eight days during the months of
July and August of 2018, while, to determine the abundance and indexes of diversity in
the trees, we proceeded to identify those that presented symptomatology of regressive
death and vascular wilt, then they were discarded. nine sick trees per site and sectioned
every four meters, after which the wood was opened for the collection of insects, which
were deposited in flasks containing 70 ° alcohol. The identification process was carried
out in the microbiology laboratory of the UTEQ with the help of a stereomicroscope and
dichotomous keys. A total of 1897 scolitids were collected in the plantations, grouped
into 11 species, the most abundant being: Hypothenemus sp, Corthylus sp, and
Premmobius cavipennis. While the most abundant within the wood were: Xyleborus sp,
Xyleborus ferrugineus, Xyleborus volvulus and Coptoborus sp.
