摘要:A combination of government initiatives and the needs of undergraduates now requires higher education to form closer links with employers. Some geoscience departments have a history of offering sandwich placements, but these were invariably not accredited. Work based learning modules, based on short placements, can provide a means of enabling undergraduates to undertake accredited learning in the workplace. This paper reports on a model of work based learning in the geosciences that provides accredited workplace experiences that enable students to link theory to practice.
