摘要：The purpose of the present research paper is to look into depth of Dr. Johnson‟s critical learning, shown in his greatest work of criticism The Lives of The Poets. In it he expresses his views on 52 poets. The Lives maintains a happy balance between biography and criticism. This paper also studies Dr. Johnson‟s noticeable views on Paradise Lost.
