摘要:Fitzgerald presented a vivid picture of ethical chaos in American Jazz Age through his masterpiece, The Great Gatsby . By describing the characters’ different ethical consciousness, ethical choices, ethical identities and ethical behaviors in the novel, Fitzgerald maybe intend to give expression to his ethical orientation: if the American society alienates itself from the traditional ethics completely, a disaster would fall on it, a gloomy vision of a world without ethical order and moral norm.
