摘要：Acorde con nuestra época “globalizadora” —que valoriza la libertad personal en detrimento de las pertenencias e identidades colectivas—, la mayoría de los enfo-ques teórico-metodológicos del comportamiento político-electoral se centra hoy en día en el análisis de los individuos. No obstante, el voto también es una conducta social e interactiva, colectiva y territorializada. Hoy más que nunca, los ciudadanos hacemos la elección de nuestros gobernantes, pero no escogemos las condiciones ni los lugares en los que dicha elección se hace. Entre otras variables importantes, el es- pacio constituye una dimensión fundamental del sufragio. Para estudiarla, la geografía y la cartografía nos proporcionan poderosos instrumentos, que permiten enfocar y ex-plorar el voto en los más diversos niveles y escalas de la organización territorial. En esta contribución, partimos de una definición operativa y situada de la geografía elec-toral, e invitamos a reflexionar sobre las posibilidades metodológicas del análisis exploratorio de datos espaciales, advirtiendo de paso sobre las limitaciones y las tram-pas de la cartografía y abogando por el estudio multidimensional del voto.
其他摘要：In agreement with our “globalizing” era —which gives value to personal freedom in detriment of the collective belongings and identities—, the great majority of the theoretical-methodological focus of the political-electoral behaviours, which is cen-tered today on the analysis of the individuals. Nonetheless, the vote is also a social and interactive conduct, as well as collective and territorialized. Today, more than ever, citizens make the choice to elect their ruling class, but we neither choose the conditions nor the places in which such elections are made. Among other important variables, the space constitutes a fundamental dimension of suffrage. To study this, geography and cartography give us powerful instruments that allow us to focus and explore the vote in the most diverse levels and scales of the territorial organization. In this contribution we depart from an operative and situated definition of the electoral geography, and we invite readers to reflect about methodological possibilities of exploratory analysis of spatial data, we warn readers about the limitations and traps of cartography and advocate for the multidimensional study of the vote.
