其他摘要:The Japan Information Center of Science and Technology has developed a Kanji on-line retrieval system called JOIS-K. The purpose, of the system is to output Japanes-languageabstracts including even such mathematical and chemical formulas as Ei Equal 0 αi or CO2. In this paper, the systems outline, problems and their solutions encountered during the devel oping processes are given. Terminals of this system can output messages in Kanji mode, but the input is to be made in alpha-numeric-kana mode on the terminal. As its Kanji code theJIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) Kanji code is employed. The Kanji terminals are those available commercially, with modifications in character set (particularly super- and sub-scripts and synthesis of characters), more variable pitch controls, printing speeds, etc.
