摘要：進化を続ける世界のサイエンスコミュニティーの中で，各大学が独自性を「見える化」し，内外からの評価を向上させるには，一貫したポリシーに基づく戦略が必要である。その戦略策定の各段階において，エビデンスデータの活用が必須となっている。本稿では，現在の日本の状況を概観するとともに，国内5大学（名古屋大学，東京大学，慶應義塾大学，山口大学，岡山大学）における実際の先進的な分析，活用事例を紹介する。さらに，研究分析に用いるエビデンスデータの中核の1つを成す，ビブリオメトリクスの可能性や名寄せについても言及する。
其他摘要：An increase in the number of researchers and papers, due a surge in output in Asia and other regions, has increased competition amongst researchers for global visibility. Researchers are also hindered by limited funding. This increase in competition and drop in funding has led research analysis through bibliometrics to become increasingly popular. Use of bibliometrics analysis is a key strategy to increase the value and global visibility of an institution's research efforts.The paper provides an overview of Japan's position in the global scholarly research landscape by reviewing five case studies from Japanese research institutions, Nagoya University, University of Tokyo, Keio University, Yamaguchi University and Okayama University that are utilizing bibliometrics data to analyze their research efforts. It also explores the role of biblio-data within in the global research community and the challenges it presents. The studies were presented at a symposium held by Thomson Reuters in association with the University of Tokyo in June, 2013. Custom assessments of research impact move beyond previous measurements to address a university's unique needs and requirements. Some of these are author disambiguation services and Research Consulting Services.
