摘要:18,800 of Japanese boys and girls in all parts of Japan were tested, (April to June, 1959) by the AAHPER'S Youth Fitness Test which consists of eight subtests. Our collegues found that Japanese youth had been superior obviously to American youth in the test of chinning, standing broad jump, 50 yards dash. 600 yards run-walk, and shuttle race, and been inferior in only one of them, i.e. sit up. In soft ball throw for distance, both American and Japanese youth showed the same result The present writer has concluded that these difference are due to the physical constitutions, social structure and living style, currriculum and teaching methods of physical education in schools. It is anticipated that the Japanese people might have the lower motor ability in future, if they adapt the foreign mode of life.
