摘要：The article analyzes the emergence of "governance" in international and national literature and its use in educational research in Brazil. It is an analytical-descriptive study of papers on educational governance found in the databases of the Scientific Electronic Library and Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, from 2004 to 2015. Despite representing an emerging field, research into the subject is fundamental for understanding the changes in the state's role in managing its policies from the 1990s This approach allows a non linear analysis of the networks that make up the complex field of education policies.
