摘要：The agricultural insurance programs have had little development, since they correspond to a very risky area of economics, that is agricultural sector, which it is not only exposed to the conditions imposed by nature, but also to the constant fluctuations present on the economy, product of variations of offer, demand, the price of inputs and the final product on the market and the manners of distribution of such products. Every variable joined to the Venezuelan cultural manners of no preventing future possible adverse situations contribute to a very limited agricultural insurances contract. Thus the goal of the present research was to evaluate the impact of the agricultural credit insurance (known in Spanish by the acronym SCA) used on the financing programs granted by the Socialist Agrarian Development Fund (known in Spanish by the acronym FONDAS) to the small and medium agrarian producers of Andres Bello Municipality from Merida State. Such a research was of a quantitative nature with an explorative, descriptive, field design. For the data gathering it was used the sampling technique and it was carried out a survey to 41 agricultural producers, for the collected data analysis it was used the descriptive statistics. Between the most significant results it was determined that most of the producers ignore the existence of the agricultural credit insurance (SCA) deducted from the received financing, the producers do not count on advice and monitoring on the side of the entity who grants the credit, in all concerning to such an insurance. As a consequence, they have never received a compensation for any eventuality arising in the productive process. Once the study has been concluded, the SCA still blocks the developing of the agricultural sector, and specially the small producers.
