摘要:The research aims to study the contrast between the two languages with specific attempts at reviewing the interrogative methods and drawing on the differences. The objectives of the study were to: (I) identify the area of similarity and dissimilarity in both languages; (ii) analyze the usage of interrogative in both language and to what extent they are similar; (iii) explain where a Yoruba learner may face challenges in interrogative particles. The adopted method is analytical and contrastive method and the major findings of the thesis include: (i) the interrogative methods in both languages are similar, and as such, student will not encounter much challenge in the course of learning both languages; (ii) there are significant differences in the use of the interrogative particles and adaptations in the studied languages. Arabic language possesses the quality of being composed of the variable and fixed elements but Yoruba language are mainly composed of fixed elements and this can pose a big challenge to students. The study concluded that there are no much gaps in interrogative methods of both languages, except in some cases of fixed and non-fixed elements in Arabic.
