摘要:Pati regency is one of the areas in Central Java Province that has considerable fishery and marine potential. The potential is shown in the contribution of fisheries and marine subsector in economic structure and production value. But only about 52.11% (fifty two point eleven percent) of the fishery production is done processing. Fishery processing is an effort to maintain the quality of fish, increase the added value and allows to meet the demand from other regions. The quantity of the number of fishery processing industries has stagnated and even decreased which is not proportional to the increase of fishery production. Seeing these conditions, it is necessary to study the development of fishery processing industry in the development of local economy in Pati Regency. The development of local economy in this context is in accordance with the concept of regional development in Pati Regency and in accordance with the scale of business of fishery processing industry which generally scaled micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM). This study aims to analyze the development of fishery processing industry in Pati Regency. This research uses mix-method research method, which is quantitative to describe the characteristics of fishery processing industry and qualitative to describe stakeholder partnership and direction of fishery processing industry development. Fishery raw material is sufficient and has good quality because it has been supported by good infrastructure and infrastructure. Processing is still simple and less attention to sanitation. Institutionally, cluster has grown in the center of fishery processing industry. However, the partnership relationship is still limited to the general trading cooperation relationship. Marketing of processing products has a limited market and has a relatively low quality. The development strategy of the fishery processing industry can be done through the improvement of cold chain through the improvement of infrastructure, training and development to increase the capacity of the community, enhancement of partnership through institutional strengthening, and promotion of processing products which is offset by the improvement of product quality through technological innovation, branding and labeling.
