摘要:The aim of the present study is to analyse the origin and historic evolution of the so called "Urban Sports". In order to achieve this goal, a descriptive methodology has been applied by means of documenting through direct observation, using secondary sources by different authors who have been contributing their knowledge and experiences on the matter. Following the obtained results it has been established that some of the most popular Urban Sports, stripped of their regulated, more customary way of doing them, are street basketball, skating and urban cycling. These have been known to cover the needs and interests arising in certain social circles during the 20th century, as a means to improve their quality of life within their direct surroundings. In many cases moving away from federations and institutionalized practices has permitted an increase in creativity.
