摘要:The management of sports federations is one of the topics that have been recently studied in Brazil, owing to the need to verify the functioning and organization of entities aiming the improvement of its programs, as well to understand those which have succeed, with international prominence. In some sports, such as Gymnastics, there is a lack of studies related to management and it is believed that this is an aspect that may contribute to the development process of the area. Therefore, the present study deals with Cearense Gymnastics Federation, one of the most recent entities among 24 gymnastics federations affiliated to the Brazilian Gymnastics Federation and aims to identify administrative, financial and technical actions related to Cearense Gymnastics Federation and its development in Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG) and Gymnastics for all (GfA) considering SPLISS pillars, in the last Olympic Cycle (2013-2016).The present qualitative and descriptive research rely on documentary sources, through the analysis of official archives of Cearense Gymnastics Federation and Brazilian Gymnastics Federation, based on the SPLISS model, which consists on evaluation system for sports policy. From the documents analysis, were found actions regarding to Financial Support, Organization and structure of sports policies, Foundation and participation, Coach provision and coach development and national and international competitions (Pillars 1, 2, 3, 7 e 8, respectively). However, regarding to Talent identification and development system, Athletic and post-career support, Training facilities and Scientific research no linked actions were found in the institution (Pillars 4, 5, 6 e 9, respectively). The same was observed by the Brazilian Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Federation, as pointed out by Figueirôa (2013). In a study conducted with Brazilian Judo Federation, there were also no actions regarding Pillar 5 and 6 (Mazzei, Vieira, Silva, & Bastos, 2012). It was observed that Rhythmic Gymnastics stands out among the other modalities, but isolated initiatives involving Artistic Gymnastics and Gymnastics For All are noticed. It is concluded that, mainly because it is a young federation in the process of stabilization, the administration of the Cearense Gymnastics Federation is characterized as non-professional. However, despite a lack of financial resources and planning, FCG has remained an active entity in the last years, fostering the practice in the State, with the presence of athletes in national and international competitions. Finally, suggestions are made to address the weaknesses of the organization as well as suggestions for studies aimed at generating new knowledge about the management of Gymnastics in the country.
