摘要：During watering of the crops in the farm through canal flows or direct pumping of ground water, a hugequantity of water is wasted due to poor irrigation practices. This wastage can be minimized by storing excess water offield in on-farm reservoir (OFR) during each irrigation. This stored water of OFR can be used as supplementalirrigation with the usual irrigation of the crop. The study suggests that the use of stored water of OFR invariablyincreases water irrigation efficiency. The stored water also ensures assured water supply during crop stress.
