摘要:Shear walls are the excellent means of providing earthquake resistance to multi-storeyed reinforcedconcrete building. Behaviour of structure during earthquake force depends on distribution of weight,Stiffness andstrength in both horizontal planes of building.The stiffness of the wall directly contributes to improve in lateralresistance of reinforced concrete frame. However, flexible structures are recommended when the buildings aresubjected to high magnitude of earthquake. In this criteria opening are implemented in shear wall to dissipating energyand change them to flexible structures. The present study focuses the how the openings affects the performance ofshear wall when subjected to lateral load by using dynamic analysis and comparison at zone II, zone III in ETABS.
