摘要:The Modern instruments used for DNA sequencing are able to generate huge amounts of genomic data.Those large volumes of data require fast transmission, effective storage, superior functionality and provision of quickaccess to any record. Data storage costs have anconsiderable proportion of total cost in the formation and analysis ofDNA sequences. In particular, the growth in the DNA sequences is highly controllable due to a fabulous increase in thedisk storage capacity. The standard compression techniques unsuccessful to compress these sequences. Severalspecialized techniques were introduced for this purpose. In this paper, we present a detailed survey of losslesscompression algorithms that have been developed for the compression of DNA sequences.
