摘要:A face recognition system is a computer application automated system which is capable of identifyingand distinguishing between individuals. This is usually done by comparing the facial features of the individuals. Theface recognition operation is done by extracting some landmarks or external facial features like the eyes, nose, lips,eyebrows etc. The person may be identified by comparing the digital image data with his stored record in the database.In this project, the stored image in the database is compared with the captured image through MATLAB coding whichis a 4th generation programming language developed by Mathworks.Here a computational model is made to identify the face of an unknown person’s by applying eigenfaces. Theeigenfaces has been applied to extract the basic face of the human face images. The eigenfaces is thenprojecting onto human faces to identify unique feat In this study, we develop a computational model toidentify the face of an unknown person’s by applying eigenfaces. The eigenfaces has been applied to extractthe basic face of the human face images. The eigenfaces is then projecting onto human faces to identifyunique features vectors.The ORL database for this investigation consists of 40 people with various 400 face images had been used forthe learning. The eigenfaces including implemented Jacobi’s method for eigenvalues and eigenvectors has beenperformed.The main advantage of this technique is its high speed processing capability and low computational requirements interms of both speed and memory utilization. Face recognition has become an important issue in many applications likesecurity systems, credit card verification and criminal identification.
