摘要:Day-to-day increased demand on the power system causing transmission network to transmit power attheir maximum transmission limits. So secured operation of power system is an important issue in order to supplyreliable power to the customer when contingencies are occurs in the system. In this paper we propose a compositeseverity index (CSI) which gives precise degree of stress in the line regarding to the MVA overloading and voltageinstability. Based on this composite severity index (CSI) the interline power flow controller (IPFC) is placed in thesystem to relieve the overload on the transmission lines under the post contingency condition. The proposedmethodology has been implemented on IEEE30 bus system and the results have been presented in MATLAB by usingN-R power flow method.
