摘要:Ternary complexes of metal M [ Pb (II), Cd(II) and Hg (II)] with A (Glycylglycine) and B ( o-Vanillinand 4- Methyl catechol) are investigated potentiometrically. Ligands A and B bind to metal ion M simultaneously toform 1:1:1 MAB mixed ligand complex in various equilibria. Experiments are performed in aqueous medium at threedifferent temperatures (20ºC±1, 30ºC±1 and 40ºC±1) and at three ionic strengths (μ=0.05M, 0.10M and 0.15M) inorder to calculate thermodynamic stability constants and other thermodynamic parameters. SCOGS computer programis used to obtain the speciation of various species formed in a particular equilibrium. The relative stability of ternarycomplexes as compared to binary species are expressed in term of Δ log K.. Values of Δ log K suggest that theformation of ternary complexes is favorable. The order of stability of the complexes with respect to metal ion is foundto be Hg(II) < Cd(II) < Pb(II).
