摘要：What is the place of cultural policies in the contemporary world? How wide should they be? The expansion of needs, desires and, above all, rights in the field of culture requires the emergence and consolidation of (new) public policies in this field. The area of culture suffers, historically, with the problem of scarcity of resources. The construction of more effective sectoral cultural policies in Brazil is a novelty in the 2000s. With the exception of patrimonial policies (which have a long history of continuity) and the area of cinema (which has gone through several stages and formats, always focusing on in production), sectoral policies were also discontinued. This article, based on a synthetic reconstruction of the trajectory of cultural policies in Brazil in the 2000s, aims to contribute to the field of studies of sectoral policies on culture by presenting some initial reflections on the area of cultural equipment.
