  • 摘要:The sole aim of any design optimization technique is price reduction and performance enhancement. Incase of fins used in IC Engines, the optimization of price is concerned with minimum material requirement andoptimization of performance is in terms of improved heat transfer rate. In this paper the effects of fin material,thickness and geometry on the performance of air cooled IC engine fins is analyzed using ANSYS and Taguchi methodof design of experiment (DOE), the analysis of variance (ANOVA) is employed to efficiently seek the combination ofoptimized design parameters.
