摘要：The contribution is based on the results of a research carried outat the Piombino steel mill during a period characterized by a deep crisis thatled to the plants closure. However, the background of the analysis is not theblast furnace, the undisputed realm of the producer worker, but bathrooms,kitchens and refectories where the workers are became users and the keyfigure are women employed in restauration and janitory services. The analysisabandons the productive heart of the factory, characterized by industrial andFordist work, to move in the adjoining space where the provision of servicesis accompanied by subcontracting, fragmentation of working time and theprecariousness of the wage earner.
