摘要：Resumen : La interacción entre religión y guerra, éxito y fracaso, personajes carismáticos y héroes divinos ocupa el centro de este artículo que pretende indagar la utilización ideológica de la religión en el escenario de la II Guerra Púnica. Las estrategias religiosas cartaginesas y sus correspondientes respuestas por parte de los romanos, la instrumentalización de dioses y legendarios personajes por ambos rivales constituyen un segundo espacio de confrontación propagandística, tan importante, o quizás más, que la lucha bélica. A través del contraste de las figuras de Aníbal y Escipión obtenemos un marco de actuación paradigmático que nos permite observar la transgresión de los límites del culto al servicio del poder político. Abstract : The interaction between religion and war, success and failure, charismatic personalities and divine heros forms the centre of this paper, devoted to stress the ideological utilization of religion during the 2 nd Punic War. The Carthaginian religious strategy and its corresponding counterparts on the Roman side, the instrumentalization of gods and mythical personalities by both sides set up a second plane of confrontation, of equal or greater importance as the actual fighting. In analyzing the contrast between the figures of Hannibal and Scipio we obtain a matrix of paradigmatic actions which allows us to observe the transgression of the normal limits of cult in the service of political power.
