摘要:Collaboration is a widespread practice in research activities, whose characteristics and implications are usually analyzed from the co-authorship of scientific publications. A questionnaire was administered to a sample of 3070 researchers from the universities of the Valencian Region (Spain), in order to deepen the knowledge of this phenomenon, analyzing by branches of knowledge (Arts & Humanities, Sciences, Health Sciences, Social & Legal Sciences, Engineering & Architecture), academic categories and sex, how the contacts between researchers have been established (pre-collaboration); the development of collaboration as a process (main tasks and motives for collaboration, number of regular collaborators and personal and group factors that make the collaboration successful); the degree of satisfaction with the presentation of collaborative work through scientific publications; and identifying the problems and barriers that hamper it.
