摘要：El presente artículo discute cómo los fines y las funciones sociales de la prisión se ven reflejados en su diseño arquitectónico, el cual no constituye simplemente una organización económica del espacio y las actividades que pueden ocurrir dentro de este, sino que además comunica importantes significados, políticos, sociales y culturales sobre el crimen y el castigo. También se analiza el papel que la prisión juega, y puede jugar, en la construcción de significados y espacios que puedan propiciar u obstaculizar la reconciliación social que, se supone, debe llegar con el postconflicto.
其他摘要：This article discusses how the aims and the social functions of prisons are reflected in their architectural designs. These are not simply economic organizations of space that host relevant activities; they also communicate important political, social, and cultural meanings about crime and punishment. The article also analyzes the roles that prison plays and can play in terms of the constructions of meaning and spaces that can promote or obstruct the social reconciliation that should supposedly be part of post-conflict.
