摘要:http://dx.doi.org/10.5007/1984-8951.2015v16n109p62 This research aims to reflect on the sculptural holders who acquire the monument quality, and reflect on their pedagogical function. Thus, some notes on the conceptual relationship between memory and history show is fundamental to think about the monuments. In addition, it discusses the distinction between monument and historical monument. Then it talks about the pedagogical function of the monuments, taking as example the National Monument to the Dead of the Second World War (monument to ‘pracinhas’) located in Flamengo, Rio de Janeiro and the funerary monument of Ary Barroso located in the cemetery São. João Batista in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro. Finally, we present an interdisciplinary approach to include monuments in teaching practice, noting the existence of advantages and challenges that these actors - student, teacher and librarian - may face in addition to considering the last essential in the proposed educational process.
