摘要：This article analyses the different approaches to the Vargas Era proposed in recent works that emphasize Vargas as an epic of an injustified national hero, as Bonapartism and as a manifestation of a national-developmentalist project. The balance takes into account the contributions and possible limitations of each work and especially its position in the political debate on developmentalism and its feasibility as a project for the future.
