摘要：After the splendor of the music chapel at Santa Maria la Mayor Collegiate Church in Talavera de la Reina during the 18 th century, it can be perceived a phase of decadence, which is part of the crisis experienced by Spanish sacred music during 19 th century. The Independence War, the successive confiscations and the application of the Concordato (1851) resulted in the diminution of the role of ecclesiastical music chapels in 19 th century Spain: even some of them were deleted, as it is the case of the Talavera music chapel.
