摘要：Nowadays, students and the hostel staff at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) are facing a numerous issues with respect to Hostel Management system. This paper aims to develop an online effective Hostel Room Management System (HRMS) which increases the efficiency of room reservation process. The improved system may enable IIUM students to make diverse kinds of request and report on different failures directly through this automated system. Additionally, it aims to provide a solution for the various inconveniences and issues faced by the current ongoing manual business process with regards to the students' hostels in IIUM. To achieve this objective, the current system is established, and the new future system is proposed based on Business Model Canvas (BMC) and four lenses of innovation. Based on this, we recommend establishing an online automated system that can facilitate the process of room reservation, booking, and interaction between hostel staff, students from IIUM, and other interested societies outside IIUM. The new automated system is aligned with Malaysian mega trends and Vision 2020.
